Hey! I'm Jill!
I'm the photographer behind Lace + Fern. What you see here is a snippet of my artwork, passion, and career; I do this because I can't imagine doing anything else (and making a living with your passion is a pretty rad journey)! Based in Anchorage, Alaska, I love being able to capture genuine moments, authentic joy, and loosely-posed moments—my goal is basically to give you the photography equivalent of "I woke up like this." Though the relaunch of Lace & Fern officially happened in 2020, I've been capturing the memories of others officially since 2008.
I'm all about good times and going with the flow as often as possible. Like the vast majority of adults in the U.S., I have a strong love for good coffee, craft beer, and basically local-anything. I'm also a lover of spicy food (the hotter, the better!) and unique or odd foods. My husband Korey and I have two dogs named Frankie and Petra, an affinity for British comedy, and a love of late-night drives to nowhere in particular. I also love cooking, baking, and fermenting foods (which means our bellies are always happy and our kitchen is always a disaster!), and I'm often taking over a room in our house with painting, making jewelry, or some other craft.
Above all, I dig genuine connections and find it just as important in photographer-client relationships just as much as I do in personal relationships. I'm so excited to learn more about you and help tell part of your story!
Hi, I'm Korey!
I'm married to Jill, and I do a lot of behind-the-scenes work for Lace + Fern as well as provide assistance during sessions when needed. You may get to meet me during your consult, but if not, you'll likely see me during your session! By day, I work for an engineering firm as a piping designer, and in my free time I love both brewing my own beer and woodworking in our garage. From turning bowls on my lathe to crafting full-sized cabinets, I've made just about everything. If you pay close attention, you may see some things I've built in the Lace + Fern offices!
Like Jill, I love spicy food and craft beer, and we're always on the hunt for something new and exciting in either category. If you're looking for entertainment, ask to see the video of the time I ate a Carolina Reaper pepper with some friends; when we say "the hotter, the better," we aren't messing around! You'll often find us frequenting breweries with our friends, relaxing on a lake in our kayaks, or snuggled up with our dogs watching our newest show/movie obsession.
I'm looking forward to meeting you and learning more about what makes you, YOU!
